Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 1 March 1988. Preston talks about her early life in Chicago, Illinois and her religious experiences. She discusses her conversion to the Mormon Church, its influence on her life and her family's lives, and her feelings on being a Mormon.
